50% new oak. Barrel sample. Very dark with black core. Super-ripe black-cherry aroma. Black and sweetly charry but also perfumed and a touch floral. Deep, dense and inviting. Rich in sweet dark fruit that is brought into balance by the layers of paper-fine tannins and that hallmark freshness of this vintage chez Nicolas Potel. Persistent and promising much. (JH)
