Note di degustazione
The 2019 La Garde comes across rather oaky on the nose, occluding the terroir expression and freshness. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine grip, just a little chewy and forced towards the finish. Doesn't need to try this hard. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

11% Sémillon. Tasted blind. Something very odd on the nose! It’s also missing a fruity core. Just the odd odour and then acid on the end with a little noticeable astringency (which none of the four wines tasted previously exhibited). (JR)
Tobacco leaf, smoked cedar, spicy oak, and both red and black fruits emerge from the 2019 Château La Garde, a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, textured Pessac with ripe tannins, good overall balance, and a great finish. It's going to keep for 15 years.
The 2019 la Garde exhibits aromas of earthy blackberries and cherries. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and rather extracted, it's a broad, chunky wine that will likely round out with a little bottle age.
