Note di degustazione
Destemmed, fermented 2 to 2.5 weeks in cement, then 2 years in old foudres (US and French oak and redwood), then into barrique (10% new) for the third year and finally 2 more years in bottle. ‘Another B vintage’, said estate director Jimmy Hayes. Greyish garnet but not really showing much brick colour. Complex aromas that still have fruit but now moving into the tertiary undergrowth spectrum, and coffee, with aeration. Dances across the palate with amazing lightness, a touch of mushroom and umami and leather but not in the least dry. Super-subtle and very long and silky in texture. Not sure this will age as well as the 1986? Note the very moderate alcohol. (JH)

Dark red cherry, plum, spice and mint are some of the many notes that are woven together in the 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon. The 1993 is creamy, radiant and expressive, with plenty to offer today and over the next 15 years or so. Sweet floral and spiced aromatics add silkiness to the expressive finish. Overall, the 1993 comes across as a wine with 20-30 years of potential, which is to say it’s and early drinker. 96
