Note di degustazione
Mature, but in no danger of fading anytime soon, the 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape la Reserve Secrete easily combines hints of roasted meat, cured leather, black cherries and licorice on the nose. Full-bodied, supple and lush in feel, it finishes long, with echoes of dark fruit and spice. Delicious.

Excellent fruit definition, which is still very vibrant, and is only just starting to display secondary characteristics. Much better purity than the 2007 and 2009, and all the more enjoyable for that. Long, firm finish. Opulent and spicy on the finish. Châteauneuf in full bloom. (RH)
Also showing consistently was the 2006 Réserve Secrète. A blend of 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah that was aged in 60% oak barrels, it is a full-bodied, decadent Châteauneuf-du-Pape that possesses thrilling aromas of black fruits, truffle, chocolate, and roasted meats, a seamless, pure texture, and a massively structured, tannic finish. Still youthful, lively, and fresh, it is a superb drink now, but would ideally be given another 4-5 years in the cellar.
Opaque ruby. Exotically perfumed aromas of dark berries, cherry-vanilla and cola, with a smoky garrigue quality. Sweet raspberry and boysenberry flavors are complemented by oak spices and candied licorice. As deep and powerful as this wine is, it's balanced and focused too. The finish is gently sweet and long, given nerve by tangy minerality.
