Note di degustazione
Vibrant ruby. Primary dark berry and cherry skin aromas are complicated by licorice and cocoa powder. Zesty mineral nuances add welcome focus to the deep blackberry and bitter cherry flavors. Finishes with weighty black fruit compote qualities and good cling. A big boy that will need seriously rich food.

Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Aged for 18 months in cuves and barrels (15% of which were new). The Quiot family’s 95 ha estate. Quite animal and open. Stewed griottes on the nose then real life on the palate. Very lively transparent wine. Not the densest – perhaps from higher, lighter soils? – but very sincere and fresh. (JR)
The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by a bouquet of charcoal, framboise, black raspberries, and a hint of spring flowers. It is a rich, full-bodied, concentrated effort with silky tannins and good acidity. Enjoy it over the next 12-15 years. This continues to be the top estate in the Jerome Quiot portfolio. These wines are made in a quasi-modern style with gorgeous levels of fruit as well as superb purity, but the taster never doubts this is a Chateauneuf du Pape, not Burgundy or Bordeaux.
