Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2026-2042, Neal Martin, Dec 2023

The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Chaignots 1er Cru has greater sense of Pinoté on the nose than its peers in this flight—well-defined with red cherries and bright strawberry fruit, though not complex per se. The oak is nicely integrated, although it needs just a few months to be fully assimilated. The palate is fleshy, ripe and more savory in style than its peers. There’s a touch of Brettanomyces here, though it actually doesn't impede, it’s just there in the background. Quite peppery on the finish, this should drink well in the near future but may age well in bottle despite missing some substance. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

This stunningly suave and silky Nuits-Saint-Georges really hits the bullseye! Great complexity on the nose with a tapestry of forest-berry, earthy and spicy aromas. And beneath the waterline there’s a great tannin structure that powers this across the palate and off into the distance. Drink or hold.
