Note di degustazione
Bursting with aromas of cherries, jammy berries and pencil shavings, the 2018 Moulin-Rouge is medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless, with a sweet core of fruit, lively acids and impressive elegance and finesse for a wine that checks in at fully 14% alcohol; even if it stands out as the most impactful wine in this short vertical.

Cru bourgeois supérieur. 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. 12 months in barrel, one-third new. Very dark with black core. Rich, deep, sweet-fruited and ripe with damson and cassis. A little bit oaky now but with the fruit to fill out the core. Smooth and rounded on the mid palate but just a little pinched on the finish. The 2018 Château du Moulin Rouge has a relatively conservative bouquet that never quite slips into fifth gear, though it is not unattractive, offering blackberry, undergrowth and light tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly sharp tannins and tart red fruit. It attenuates toward the finish and leaves you wanting more.
