Note di degustazione
Deep purple-hued, the 2023 Château Puyblanquet offers juicy red fruits, chalky minerality, flowers, and spice. Based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and aged in 50% new French oak, it's medium-bodied and balanced, with fine tannins and a great finish. It's terrific today yet will keep for 20 years if well stored. Drink 2026-2045.

The 2023 Puyblanquet feels rather simple and lacks bandwidth on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a little raw and missing some precision on the finish. So-so.
This has expressive aromas of chocolate, ripe blackberries and touches of licorice and oregano. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline, savory thread complemented by velvety tannins. Harmonious and elegant. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.
The 2023 Puyblanquet is powerful, deep and resonant. A burly Saint-Émilion, the 2023 packs a pretty serious punch. Red/purplish fruit, rose petal, spice and menthol are all dialed up in this pretty wine. I would like to see more focus in the aromatics. This is a work in progress, slightly hampered by some Brett and angularity. Tasted two times.
