Note di degustazione
Vegan. Mid orangey gold. Deeply complex aroma of lapsang tea and bitter orange/apricot fruit. Dried fruits and nutty but not sweet-smelling. Very special wine. A cross between wine and madeira. It's sweet but finishes dry. Lightly tannic and a long bitter-orange finish. So long. (JH)

The 2011 Single Harvest Tinta Negra mixes grapes from the north and the south of the island; the ones from the north were picked one week before full ripeness to give acidity. The wine matured in used French oak casks from March 2012 until 2024, following the "canteiro" method. It has 65 grams of sugar and 7.61 grams of acidity. It aims to be the introduction to Tinta Negra (first produced from the 1995 vintage), produced in a paler and less sweet style, with more freshness and less rusticity inherent to the grape. It's a grape that evolves quickly and tends to become concentrated, so they need to be very careful with the aging in the pipas. 2,924 bottles were filled in April 2024.
