1989, the current vintage in release, is successful for Silver Oak. The 1989 Cabernet Sauvignon-Alexander Valley exhibits a spicy, vanillin, and black olive-scented nose, rich, velvety, medium to full-bodied flavors, low acidity, and a long, lush, jammy fruit-filled finish. It does not possess any of the hard tannin or hollowness that plague many 1989s. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
