Absolutely classic aromas of honeyed pineapple, subtle grapefruit, lemon curd, and chalky minerality all emerge from the 2020 Château Picque Caillou Blanc, a bright, clean, medium-bodied white with bright acidity and a clean, crisp finish. Made in a forward, elegant style, it should keep for 7-8 years, although there's no need to delay gratification.
The 2020 Picque Caillou Blanc has an attractive nose with peach skin and pineapple scents, maybe just missing the complexity of its peers. The palate is quite malic on the entry and it comes across far less tropical-driven compared to the showing from barrel, just light notes of pineapple and quince towards the finish. Fine.
The 2020 Picque Caillou Blanc is a solid dry white to drink now and over the next year or two. While not exciting nor complex, the Blanc is a pleasant, aperitif-styled white for casual drinking.
