Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2025-2045, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

Aromas of raspberries, licorice, peonies and rich soil tones introduce Roty's 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin La Brunelle, a medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping wine that's charming but precise, its fleshy core of fruit framed by fine-grained tannins and lively acids. From vines in what is effectively the domaine's back garden, this is showing beautifully.

Da bere 2021-2030, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin La Brunelle has a slightly rustic bouquet compared to its peers. The palate is also a little rustic in comparison to the Gevrey Village, with a little toughness on the finish. I will defer judgment for now, as this was showing much better from barrel.

Punteggio 91-93/100 · Da bere 2024-2040, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin La Brunelle has one of the most understated bouquets from Roty this year, but needs a little more coaxing from the glass compared to others, scents of raspberry, wild strawberry and light loamy aromas developing. The palate is well balanced with crisp tannin, quite succulent in the mouth with good grip, the sweetness loaded onto the back end with layers of liquorice-tinged black fruit. This will require five or six years in bottle but there is a lot of potential.
