Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2025-2035, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Mar 2024

The 2021 Pinot Noir Cerise Vineyard, from vines planted in 1998, is vibrant and spicy. A core of wild berry fruit lurks beneath scents of licorice, mixed tea leaves, blood orange, tree bark and flint. The medium-bodied palate is silky and mouthwatering with generous, spicy fruit and a long, flinty finish. It will benefit from 3-5 years in bottle. 414 cases produced.

Punteggio 95+/100 · Da bere 2026-2033, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2024

The 2021 Pinot Noir Cerise Vineyard is powerful, layered and exceptionally beautiful. It is also a very young wine in need of cellaring. Dark red fruit, leather, cedar, herbs and strong mineral notes all run through this potent, dazzling Pinot from Littorai. All of this fruit was destemmed.

22% whole cluster. Pale ruby in colour. Stemmier than The Return bottling. Potting soil, bitter amaro and Dutch-processed cocoa. Pomegranate and dark cherry, with a very firm backbone and very fine tannin structure. (SCJ)

The 2021 Pinot Noir Cerise Vineyard marries focus with the natural intensity of the year. There is a ton to the 2021, but all of its considerable energy is directed inwards at the moment. This young, vibrant Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is going to need a number of years to fully come together, but it is immensely promising. Chalk, mint, white pepper, herbs and dried flowers linger on the potent, salivating finish. Patience will be key here.
