Note di degustazione
The vines used for Paul Pernot’s Bourgogne Chardonnay were planted in 1975. Now almost 50 years old, this old-vine plot borders Puligny-Montrachet, producing a rich and expressive Bourgogne Blanc. The nose offers chalky notes with ripe lemon peel, but there’s a fatness here too – with fleshy, juicy peach fruit kept vibrant with a line of minerality and bright acidity. There’s a pleasing phenolic bitterness to the finish.

Here the nose is sufficiently reduced to need aeration. Otherwise, there is good freshness and vivacity to the equally lighter weight flavors that possess a more refined texture on the acceptably persistent finish. This too would best be enjoyed young for the fresh fruit. Drink Now+
