Cooler notes. Crunchy, crisp, briary redcurrant and berry fruit. An elegant Pinot which is quite delicate, with good floral touches, and fine tannins for further ageing. (AWH)

The 2021 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge Fontaine St Martin easily offers the finest bouquet of the Hautes-Côtes with quite delineated, minerally red fruit that are vivid and full of vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, the oak neatly integrated, fine depth and grip with a sappy finish. This is very promising - deserves a couple of years in bottle.

The first vintage of Domaine Michel Gros – one of the many Gros family estates in Burgundy – was 1979. The property has several prized vineyards including its monopole Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, Clos des Réas.
