The purity of fruit to this young second wine are very impressive with blueberry and blackberry character. Citrus undertones. Medium to full body and a bright finish. Drink in 2021.

Medium in body and super-expressive, the 2015 Croix de Beauséjour is one of the best second wines readers will come across. One of the things I admire most about the Croix de Beauséjour is how it captures the personality of this site, but without the gravitas that makes the Grand Vin, well, grand. An exotic mélange of savory herbs, crushed flowers, herbs, licorice and leather infuses this sumptuous, delicious Saint-Émilion. Nicolas Thienpont and his team hit a number of home runs in 2015, including at Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse, where both wines are simply great. Tasted two times.
