Transparent cherry red. Pale rim. Autumn leaves and moss on the nose. Rather firm and still a bit tough. Not obviously full of the generosity of the vintage. Some rather austere tannins on the end without great amplitude of fruit. A bit too stolid to set the pulse racing. (JR)
