The 2020 Bouscaut Blanc has quite an oaky nose, though I feel it is proportionate to the fruit concentration. There is an element of rapid evolution here and perchance a bit of premox? The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, a little creamy in texture, tailing off a little toward the finish where I am seeking more complexity. This is not as good as the bottle I encountered just after bottling. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

A fleshy, expressive wine, the 2020 Bouscaut Blanc bursts with aromas of ripe grapefruit, nectarine, honeysuckle and herbs. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and enveloping, it's generous and textural, with ripe acids and a saline finish. This has turned out well.
The 2020 Château Bouscaut Blanc offers up a vibrant, focused, yet concentrated style that I suspect will age gracefully. With lots of ripe citrus, lemon, pineapple, and chalky minerality, it has terrific mid-palate depth, nicely integrated acidity, and a terrific finish. A great vintage for this estate, it can be enjoyed any time over the coming decade or more.
