Punteggio 86/100 · Da bere 2017-2022, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017

The 2014 Lynsolence was actually disappointing on the nose, missing the freshness and vitality that it showed in barrel. The palate is simple but at least balanced with slightly drying tannin, a Saint Emilion that seems to have perhaps remained in barrel a little too long? I was hoping for more given the showing in barrel.

The 2014 Lynsolence has developed beautifully over the last two years. There is plenty of intensity in the dark blue and purplish stone fruit flavors, but the 2014 has also acquired a measure of freshness it did not show as a young wine. The tannins could use a bit more time to soften, but otherwise, Lynsolence is a very pretty, attractive Saint-Émilion with considerable near- and medium-term appeal.

The 2014 Lynsolence is quite forward and flashy, with copious dark fruit, spice and new leather notes. Ripe and bold throughout, the 2014 is not especially subtle, but it is nicely balanced throughout.
