Note di degustazione
Lots of darker fruits, savory spice, and dried herb notes emerge from the 2019 Château Vieux Maillet, a medium-bodied, balanced, yet more savory, almost chewy Pomerol that doesn't have the purity or finesse of the top wines. It already offers pleasure and should be enjoyed over the coming decade.

The 2019 Vieux Maillet is plush, modern and sexy on the nose of ripe, prune-tinged fruit, though it’s missing the delineation of some of its Pomerol peers. The palate is sweet and chewy on the entry, retaining the bitter edge it showed from barrel, but clipped on the finish.
The 2019 Vieux Maillet is aromatic, effusive and charming right out of the gate. Succulent dark cherry, plum, mocha, chocolate, espresso and licorice lend striking aromatic nuance. There's plenty of depth and fine balance to this decidedly extroverted Pomerol.
Full bottle 1,347 g. 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Each of the three members of the team are also spelt out on the back label. You've got to love it! Glowing mid ruby. Smells restrained but intriguing. Rich and smooth on the palate – very recognisably Pomerol with both voluptuousness and grip. Appetising and very pleasing. Tannins and fruit suitably balanced. Long.
