Note di degustazione
Medium garnet colored, the 2011 Asterisk simply sings of kirsch, red roses and black raspberries with hints of chocolate-covered cherries, lavender and bay leaves plus a hint of powdered cinnamon. Full-bodied, the palate is all perfume and brightness, with youthful, vivacious red berry layers and a firm, grainy frame, finishing long and mineral laced.

The 2011 ASTERISK is a drop-dead gorgeous wine, especially for a year that was so challenging. Freshly cut flowers, mint, super-ripe red berries and crushed rocks are totally alive in the glass in a wine that stands out for its energy, vibrancy and delineation. Fine grained tannins support the polished, impeccable finish. The 2011 Asterisk is a bit medium in body by Sloan standards, but it is notable for its balance and class. Sweet tobacco, licorice and savory herbs linger on the intensely aromatic, high-toned finish.
