The 2018 La Grangère seems to have gained more focus and composure on the nose compared to its showing from barrel, displaying blackberry, boysenberry and light violet aromas with black pepper and sage notes developing. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins. A strict and slightly bitter Saint-Émilion. I want more flesh and less rigidity on the finish. Maybe too much maceration here?

Lots of blackberry and plums fruits as well as baking spices, lead pencil, and a hint of truffle emerge from the 2018 Château La Grangere. Medium-bodied, it has a soft, elegant, nicely focused texture and a great finish. It's an incredibly charming red to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years.
The 2018 La Grangère is laced with crushed raspberry, mint, white pepper and pretty floral notes. This mid-weight Saint-Émilion has charm, but is ultimately penalized by vegetal undertones and a dry finish.
