Punteggio 17.5/20 · Da bere 2026-2042, Richard Hemming MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2024

More blue fruit than black on the nose, and restrained in style by the Napa standard. No confection at all, in fact, this is entirely savoury. The structure is open-knit, though – the tannins are yielding, the acid is integrated and the oak is balanced, so it's a drinkable even now, albeit without the full complexity. The serious face of Napa. (RH)

Punteggio 18/20 · Da bere 2023-2040, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2022

Full bottle 1,475 g. 45 year-old vines between St Helena and Rutherford on gravelly alluvial soils. On low-yielding St George rootstock. Mid purplish crimson. Rather an ethereally ripe nose with wonderful refreshment on the end and so much fruit that it almost obliterates the not inconsiderable tannin structure. Cedar/cigar-box notes. Real energy and life to this wine! It's very tempting to drink this straight away because it has so much charm but you know it would make sense to wait awhile. Super-clean and vibrant. A model for Napa? Great mineral note on the end. So long and rewarding. One sip lasts a minute… (JR)

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2023-2040, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Sep 2022

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Kronos Vineyard is rather minty and herbal, but it marries those traits with vibrant, almost floral cassis notes. Restrained by comparison to most other Napa Valley Cabernets, it's medium-bodied, with a streamlined shape on the palate that belies its intensity. Silky, long and nearly weightless, it lingers easily on the finish. The choice between Kronos and Sunbasket often comes down to vintage and personal taste—both are exceptional and highly individual expressions of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
