Note di degustazione
According to Véronique Maret, 2011 was a fruit-forward, early-drinking vintage. "The last year, I worked with my father on the winemaking. We had some rain at the end of September." Despite that, Charbonniere's 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Vieilles Vignes shows no signs of fading. Luscious strawberry and herb aromas mark the nose, while the palate is full-bodied and silky and the long finish echoes with notes of salted licorice. Not tasted blind.

Saturated ruby. A complex bouquet evokes candied dark berries, potpourri and sandalwood, plus a spicy topnote. Sweet black raspberry and floral pastille flavors gain weight and power in the glass. Silky and seamless on a finish that features fine-grained tannins and a touch of bitter berry skin.
Bright purple. Heady aromas of blackcurrant, mocha, pipe tobacco and incense. Lush and expansive, with seamless, complex flavors of dark berries, candied flowers and spicecake. A suave, accessible wine, finishing with supple tannins and impressive length.
