I loved the 2021 Château Tayac, a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 12% Petit Verdot. Smoky red and black fruits, lead pencil/cedar, and sappy tobacco notes all define the nose, and it's medium-bodied, with a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, fine-grained tannins, and outstanding length. It might even have some upside. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following 10-15.

The 2021 Tayac has an uncomplicated bouquet with light black cherries and blueberry fruit, lacking the amplitude of the best Margaux, though clean and delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a soft-textured yet balanced Margaux with an easygoing finish that needs a few months to assimilate the oak.
