The 2013 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru was showing some reduction on the nose. The palate is very silky to the touch, the acidity well judged and full of energy, touches of orange sorbet infusing the black fruit toward the focused finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a sensual Charmes-Chambertin to enjoy over the next couple of decades
All Mazoyères, quite high. Christophe Roumier’s name on the label. Two and a half fûts. Reduced nose but truly charming on the palate. Really lovely, charming texture. Expects a bit more flesh. Long and precise. (JR)
