Note di degustazione
The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques is a dramatic, broad-shouldered wine that unwinds in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cassis, espresso roast, rich soil tones and petals. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a fleshy core of fruit, this is beginning to become approachable, even if it's still really a decade away from its plateau of maturity.

Deep red with ruby highlights. Very ripe flavors and aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, licorice, dark chocolate and menthol. Big, rich, sweet and stuffed with fruit. Not the last word in definition, but this big boy saturates every square millimeter of the palate. In a big, rather masculine style, finishing with excellent length and nice lift for the year.
Deep red-ruby. Complex aromas of black cherry, gibier and smoke; conveys more soil character than the village wine. Thick, full and a bit saline in the mouth, with a very ripe black cherry flavor dominating. Finishes quite long, with chewy tannins and a very New World chocolatey character.
