Rich, ripe and sweet but with less zip than the 2021. Just a little big and blowsy – very 2022! (JR)

Marvellous new acquisition. Mass-selection vines aged 40–100 years! 50% whole bunch. 17 months in 20% new oak. Perrot-Minot and Gérard Mugneret also own vines in this very special plot. Paler than the Vosne, Les Beaux Monts. Gentle nose gives on to very voluptuous fruit – incredibly seductive and very different from the other Pinots – because some of the vines are Pinot Fin perhaps? Really wild and long and hugely pleasurable. A blast from the past. Extremely long, really mouth-filling. French wine guru Michel Bettane apparently called it the La Tâche of Nuits. It hasn’t the weight but is almost as alluring. Rich, biscuity finish. (JR)
Previously farmed by Christophe Perrot-Minot. Will complete conversion to organic in 2024. Tank sample. Medium ruby. Bright, attractive floral nose of roses and peony, with smoke and red cherries. Ripe, velvet, voluptuous texture. Very seductive with a long spicy finish. (MH)
