Note di degustazione
A complex array of aromas, from sour berries and juniper, to violets and eucalyptus, and then leather and sweet spices lead into a palate with great depth of ripe, round tannins and a long, minerally finish with an intriguing note of samphire. Weather conditions were just about all a producer could ask for in 2006: warm and dry in June and July, rain when it was needed in August, and a return of long, sunny days in September and the first part of October, with notable day/night temperature excursions. Outstanding.

The 2006 La Paja takes some time opening in the glass, wafting up with an airy mix of crushed black cherries, sage and nuances of dark chocolate. This is elegant and poised, yet also rich and pliant, with ripe red and black fruits that soothe the palate as balanced acids maintain remarkable freshness. It finishes long and lightly structured, leaving sweet tannins to linger, along with a bitter twang of sour berries under an air of tobacco. There's no fear of decline from this incredibly pretty rendition of La Poja.
