Seven rows running from top to bottom of the Clos. 50-year-old vines. 33% new oak. Barrel sample. Sturdy is the best word for this wine, in which the oak makes its presence felt. It’s a trier… Good acidity and very tucked in with fruit and well-managed tannin for the future even if for the moment it lacks the charm of the Charmes-Chambertin. (JR)
