Note di degustazione
The 2018 Caduce comes from just west of the Fronsac appellation and is a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has a classic nose of ripe black plums, black cherry preserves and bay leaves with hints of cedar, graphite and unsmoked cigars. The medium-bodied, delicately crafted palate (13% declared alcohol) bursts with freshness, delivering crunchy black fruits and a light chewiness of tannins, finishing with a savory herbal lift.

The entry-level wine from this estate, the 2018 Domaine Du Bouscat Caduce is a charmer, offering lots of mulled red and black fruits, a touch of chocolate and spicy herbs, medium to full body, and a rounded, layered, nicely textured style on the palate. Readers looking for a character-filled, textured, already delicious Bordeaux that will evolve for 5-7 years will love this.
The 2018 Caduce is racy and flamboyant right out of the gate. A blast of dark cherry, chocolate, spice and leather saturates the palate as this flashy Bordeaux Supérieur shows off its alluring personality. Caduce will appeal most to readers who enjoy bold reds. Best of all, it's a phenomenal value.
Domaine du Bouscat's 2018 Caduce is gorgeous. Ripe dark cherry, plum, espresso, licorice and sweet floral notes all flesh out in this sumptuous, racy Bordeaux Supérieur. Caduce is often one of the best values in Bordeaux. The 2018 is especially delicious.
