The organic Chiara Condello 2020 Romagna Sangiovese Predappio Riserva Lo Stralisco represents a special section of fruit from the 0.8-hectare Le Lucciole vineyard. This pretty wine reveals a little more darkness and concentration at its core with pressed blackberry and dried cherry. The sunny intensity of the growing season seeps into the texture of this medium- to full-bodied red wine. Production is limited to 1,130 bottles. The wine ferments with whole-cluster fruit in large oak and matures in Clayver cement vessels.

The 2020 Sangiovese Romagna Predappio Riserva Lo Stralisco is exotic and intense, as smoky notes of blood orange, crushed rocks, and sage slowly give way to dried strawberries and blue and purple flowers. This is full of tension, zesty and edgy in feel, with riveting acidity and depths of liquid violets, wild berry fruits and hints of tangerine that cascade across a core of a tactile minerality. A twang of sour citrus combines with crunchy tannins under an air of sweet lavender, as this finishes with outstanding length, leaving a sensation of liquid stone that lingers on. The 2020 Lo Stralisco is totally captivating. Of note, this bottle was enjoyed over the course of an entire day and only gained in complexity from start to finish. Only two hundred were produced.
