Note di degustazione
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot. Leafy cassis, fragrant and open with dark fruit and a touch of spice. You can smell more than taste the alcohol here. The tannins are firm and chewy and needing time but this should get there in the end. Quite sturdy at the moment. (JH)

The 2015 de Malleret has turned out beautifully. Dark, sumptuous and also quite powerful, the 2015 packs a real punch. Inky blue/purplish fruit, leather, smoke, licorice, chocolate and tobacco all hit the palate in this virile, brooding Haut Médoc Cru Bourgeois. The blend is 56% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot.
Another incredibly successful Cru Bourgeois is the 2015 Château De Malleret which comes from an estate located just north of Bordeaux, in the southern part of the Médoc. It packs a surprising amount of fruit and texture and gives up classic notes of lead pencil and cedary as well as leafy herbs, truffle, and underbrush. Drink this plump, medium-bodied, nicely concentrated Haut-Médoc anytime over the coming decade or so. It’s worth checking out.
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 De Malleret felt simple and lacked the personality of its peers on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannin, plenty of graphite and tobacco notes dominating the mid-palate with an austere and serious finish. Lighten up please. Tasted September 2017.
