Medium red. Complex, showy aromas of strawberry, cherry, earth, spices and dried flowers, along with a touch of smoky oak (Lignier ages his premier crus in 50% new barriques Pliant, full and deep but with piquant limestone lift to the red fruit and spice flavors. This boasts terrific texture without heaviness. Finishes with excellent breadth and a fine dusting of tannins. This and the Rue de Vergy are always picked at the end, noted Lignier, in this case on September 22 and 23, respectively.
