Note di degustazione
50% whole bunch, 20% new oak. Cask sample. Dense, chalky texture with compact cherry fruit and piquant spice. Very savoury and concentrated. Exhibits all the power of Gevrey-Chambertin – a good reflection of the terroir. Almost brutish in its intensity. (RH)

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Jouises" Vieilles Vignes comes from two lieu-dits in the south of the appellation, matures in 25% new oak and with 50% whole bunches. It has a well defined bouquet with crushed stone infusing the red berry fruit, just a touch of mint developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin on the entry, just tapering a little towards the finish that just needs to develop a little more flesh. That will surely develop by the time of bottling.
