Black cherries, cassis, graphite, spicy oak, and crushed stone all emerge from the 2023 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou, a blend of 58% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Petit Verdot. It's medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and nicely structured, with ripe, polished, building tannins and integrated acidity. This beautifully balanced effort will have 20+ years of overall longevity. Drink 2026-2045.

The 2023 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou is another terrific wine in this range from Bruno Borie. Crushed flowers, red/purplish fruit, mint mocha, rose petal and cinnamon are nicely pushed forward. Savory aromatic inflections from the Cabernet Sauvignon lead into the resonant finish.
When 2023 works, it works like this... effortless, opulent, squid ink, graphite, totally delicious. Love this, the cassis and bilberry character against slate, cocoa bean and cigar box. 60% new oak.
