A solid core of blackberry and blackcurrant with some walnut and cedar. Fine and creamy tannins. Juicy finish. Very well done. Better than 2022?

The 2023 La Tour de Bessan is a tad muddled on the nose, showing a mixture of ripe and slightly underripe fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with dark cherry and graphite notes on the entry, moderate weight and a little dryness toward the finish. It’s difficult to pin this one down.
A floral nose befitting the appellation, with autumnal high-toned fruit leading to a smooth finish. Ageing in 30% new oak.
