A blend of 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc brought up in a mix of tank and barrel, the 2023 Château Peymouton is a charming, layered, ripe 2023 that displays the style of the vintage. Ripe red and black fruits, spicy herbs, and loamy soil all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, nicely balanced, has sweet tannins, and outstanding length. It already offers pleasure yet will shine for at least 15 years if well stored. Drink 2026-2040.

The 2023 Peymouton is a delicate, open-knit Saint-Émilion to drink now and over the next handful of years. Crushed flowers, kirsch, sweet macerated cherry and tobacco are all laced together in this soft, easygoing Saint-Émilion.
The 2025 Peymouton has a crisp blackcurrant- and bilberry-scented bouquet that just needs a little more intensity. The palate is medium-bodied, a little rustic with a slight herbaceous edge, and it slightly tapers toward the finish. Not bad, but early drinking.
Aromas of plums and cherries follow through to a medium-bodied palate with firm tannins and a juicy, medium-length finish. A little simple, but poised and balanced. 90% merlot, 8% cabernet sauvignon and 2% cabernet franc. Drink now.
