Lively red fruits, herbal notes, flowers, loamy soils, and spice all emerge from the 2023 Château Monbrison, a charming, medium-bodied Margaux. Based on 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot and aged 14 months in 35% new French oak, it's juicy and balanced on the palate, with more elegance and finesse than concentration and power, yet I like its overall complexity. Drink this enjoyable effort over the coming 15 years. Drink 2026-2041.

The 2023 Monbrison has a delineated and attractive nose with blackberry, briar and pencil-shaving scents that gradually unfold. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid black fruit, touches of black olive, a little grainy in texture but here there is commendable substance on the finish. A well-crafted Margaux that should repay three to five years in bottle.
Leafy herbs, underbrush, spice, and floral red fruits emerge from the 2023 Château Monbrison, a more medium-bodied, mid-weight Margaux that comes up short on density and depth.
Black currants, espresso, and spearmint form the character here. The wine is medium-bodied, forward, soft, and fruity, with an easy-going-charm.
