The 2023 La Fleur d'Arthus has a well-defined bouquet, the aromatics certainly superior to those I found from barrel, fresher and more detailed. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a touch of balsamic infusing the red fruit, more black fruit with a touch of tobacco and dark chocolate emerging toward the finish. Not bad, though more short-term.

Savory red and black fruits, dried herbs, leather, and toasted bread notes all emerge from the 2023 Château La Fleur D'Arthus, a beautifully layered, medium to full-bodied Saint-Emilion that has a great mid-palate, a round, lush mouthfeel, terrific balance, and integrated oak. This spicy, savory, complex 2023 will need just a few years of bottle age.
