Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2026-2035, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2026

A classic, old school Saint-Emilion Grand Cru from the upper plateau near Sansonnet, the 2023 Château La Couspaude offers juicy red and black fruits, earthy herbs, and sappy, spicy, floral, and leather nuances. It's medium-bodied, nicely balanced, and has a supple, juicy mouthfeel and a good finish. This is a balanced effort that's going to benefit from the Vignobles K team, which has recently purchased this château. Drink 2026-2035.

Lots of ripe black raspberries, mulberries, spicy herbs, and subtle leather nuances all merge from the 2023 Château La Couspaude, a perfumed, complex, medium-bodied Saint-Emilion that has the juicy, lively style of the vintage, ripe tannins, and solid length. It has outstanding potential.

Creamy, dark, round, sweet, and supple, the wine is loaded with dark, black cherries, licorice, chocolate, and espresso. There is ripeness, as well as lift, that once the oak better integrates will be fun to enjoy.

A crunchy and lightly salty red with aromas of dark plums and orange peel. Medium body and firm tannins. Nice fluidity to this.
