The 2023 Domeyne has a well-defined bouquet that leans slightly more toward red fruit, commingling with cedar and pencil shaving scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, well-balanced with touches of brown spice, satisfying length and a crisp finish. This is a well-made Saint-Estèphe.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Domeyne is a touch closed and sluggish to start, with notes of damp soil and chargrill giving way to a core of ripe plums and raspberries with an undercurrent of dried herbs. The medium-bodied palate is lively, with lightly chewy tannins and just enough fruit, finishing with an herbal lift.
Juicy and vivid with good acidity and fine tannins. Medium-bodied with a firm structure and a lengthy, meaty aftertaste. It should come together nicely.
The 2023 Domeyne has a rather surly and backward nose that needs to come out of shell by the time of bottling. It’s just a bit conservative in the context of the growing season. The palate is medium-bodied with an approachable, fleshy opening. It's a different wine than the aromatics would suggest, but it lacks a modicum of complexity on the finish.
