Deep purple-hued, the 2023 Château Deyrem Valentin offers smoky red plums, darker currants, violets, Asian spices, and cedary oak on the nose. Based on 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot and aged 15 months in 40% new French oak with the balance in one-year-old barrels, it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a nicely textured mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding balance. It's a workhorse-style Margaux that will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and should see its 20th birthday in fine form. Drink 2029-2045.

The 2023 Deyrem Valentin is heady and opulent in the glass. Inky dark red fruit, iron, rose petal, mint, dried herbs, incense and crushed flowers are front and center. This mid-weight, exuberant Margaux hits all the right notes. It's not exactly subtle, but that does not appear to be the aim.
Round, soft, forward, and medium-bodied, with a core of ripe, sweet, lifted currants, licorice, espresso, flowers, and cherries, create an open, creamy, polished, wine that will be easy-to-enjoy with pleasure on release, and for 12-15 years after that.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Deyrem Valentin has a nose of stewed redcurrants and strawberry preserves with hints of fried herbs, damp soil, and black pepper. The medium-bodied palate delivers crunchy red berry flavors with a firm, chewy texture and savory finish. The blend is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot.
