A serious, concentrated white, the 2023 Clos Des Lunes Lune D'Or Blanc offers stone fruits, brioche, white flowers, and chalky minerality on the nose. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a layered mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a great finish. This is 100% Semillon brought up in a mix of barrels and concrete tanks. It's geared for the dinner table and should drink well over the coming decade. Drink 2026-2036.

The 2023 Lune d'Or, 100% Sémillon, is the top white in this range from Olivier Bernard. Lemon confit, marzipan, sage, mint and dried herbs open with some coaxing. The 2023 is attractive and has plenty of energy, but it also feels a bit stern for a pure Sémillon.
The 2023 Lune d'Or contains no Sauvignon Blanc because the winemaking team felt there was no need ... and they were right. It has a little more delineation on the nose compared to the Lune d'Argent. Green apple, lime and wet pavement scents gradually open in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine seam of acidity. Lovely texture, hints of chamomile filter through with aeration. I like the energy in this Lune d'Or, and it has a splendid aftertaste. Very fine.
The flagship white here, the 2023 Clos Des Lunes Lune D'Or Blanc is based on 100% Semillon, which is the first time this cuvée hasn't included Sauvignon Blanc. It has a richer, powerful bouquet of ripe citrus and stone fruits as well as spicy wood, honeyed flowers, and subtle toast. With medium to full-bodied richness, a beautifully balanced, elegant mouthfeel, and integrated acidity, it's a stunning white that readers will love to have.
