The 2023 Brown has a pure and lifted bouquet with blackcurrant, blueberry and licorice that is well-defined and has plenty of vigor. The oak is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with a grainy texture, a fine bead of acidity, gentle grip, with licorice-infused black fruit from start to finish. There is an appealing sense of primal energy in this Château Brown that bodes well for the future. Often keenly priced, this is well worth seeking out.

Love the gentle waves of flavour that unroll with this wine, delivering on En Primeur promise, and is a wine that I have opened and enjoyed several times over the past year. As ever with Château Brown blanc there is a kiss of oak, with some exotic fruit and peach pit. Ready to go, one point upscore.
Starts with a kick of black chocolate and sappy autumnal fruits, sleek enough to give plenty of Pessac Léognan signature. This is ready to drink with a good carafe, as the tannins have well softened over aging, but will develop further. Jean-Christophe Mau owner.
Bottled September 2024 and just released. 75% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Sémillon. Tastes quite similar to the 2024. Very rich nose and then lots of acidity. Piercing, refreshing and only very slightly astringent. Should keep well. (JR)
