Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2026-2036, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2026

Complex red, blue, and black fruits, saddle leather, savory flowers, and incense all define the 2023 Château Belgrave, a medium-bodied, concentrated Haut-Médoc with good mid-palate density and tons of character. Based on 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot from deep gravel and gravel on clay soils, aged in oak barrels with 29% new oak and a portion in amphora, it has ripe, building tannins and a great finish. Drink this characterful effort over the coming decade or more. Drink 2026-2036.

The 2023 Belgrave is a seriously beautiful, vivid wine. Blackberry, crème de cassis, licorice, espresso and mint are some of the many nuances that start to take shape in the glass. Give this a few years to be at its finest.

The 2023 Belgrave has a strong tobacco-scented bouquet, ample black fruit, a little unrefined, but there is energy here. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins. Nicely balanced, gentle grip with a slightly short finish, it is a straight-down-the-line, decent claret that needs 2 or 3 years in bottle.

Brooding on the nose, with fresh blackberries and dried flowers. The palate is marked by richly textured dark-fruit flavors, showing firm, incisive tannins and a vibrant acidity that holds everything together. Very attractive and structured. A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot. Drink now or hold.
