Note di degustazione
Ruby-red. Aromas of ripe red and dark berries, pungent flowers and smoky minerals and a hint of garrigue in the background. Juicy, supple and concentrated, offering energetic black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors supported by tangy acidity. Finishes focused, seamless and quite long, with fine-grained tannins coming in slowly.

90% Grenache, 10% Syrah. All destemmed. 30-day maceration with punching down and rack and return. 12 months’ maturation in barrels of 225 and 400 litres. Mid ruby. Fresh and sweet/minty/liquorice. Fun and with raciness albeit with some quite dry tannins too. More rich and authentic than some. Very sweet overall. (JR)
The 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape is a smoking success in the vintage. A blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah that comes from mostly pebble soils (and a number of plots spread throughout the appellation), it has a ripe, sexy style to go with notes of kirsch, sweet blackberry, crushed flowers and spice. About as hedonistic and supple as they come in the vintage, it should drink nicely on release and evolve relatively quickly.
