Note di degustazione
The 2010 Chapelle-Chambertin is cool, dark and totally seductive. Sweet dark cherries, flowers and mint are some of the nuances that flow from this striking Chapelle. The wine is at once inward yet also soft and caressing. Layers of fruit build to the expressive finish. This is a fabulous showing. The 2010 Chapelle was aged in 80% new barrels.

Anticipated maturity: 2018-2030. Once again I was thrilled with the wines I tasted with Pierre Damoy, a grower who doesn't get anywhere near the recognition he deserves. Yields were down dramatically, around 30-40%, just as they were throughout the region. Damoy did not begin picking until October 1, quite late for the year. Sweet and candified and a tad too easy and jagged. Not the purest expression. Chewy finish. (JR)
