The year of the first motor buses in London. Pale amber. Light but perfect. Great dancing fruit. Pale marmalade. A little bit of chew on the end but very delicate. Lovely texture and lots of punch. Such a lot going on the finish. A really beautiful wine. Just a hint of lychees. So gorgeous and complete! (JR)

Dramatic green gold tawny, very transparent. Rich molten toffee on the nose – amazingly lively, possibly more fruit and richness than the 1921. A little chewy on the finish but still very much alive. Very clean and fresh and lively. Real vibrancy, Fantastic relic. Coo-er !!!! (JR)
Recorked 1994. Layered mahogany. No nose to begin with but delicate and somehow convincing. Lovely dancing delicate texture on the palate. Great sweetness counterbalanced by acidity. Not one of the pinnacles of this tasting but a gorgeous and extremely satisfying wine. 19 and still improving. (JR)

Indiscusso miglior vino dolce al mondo, Château d'Yquem è l'unica tenuta Premier Cru Supérieur di Sauternes, classificata nel 1855. Con una lunga storia che risale al Medioevo, lo château è strettamente legato a quella della famiglia Lur-Saluces, che ne è coinvolta ancora oggi.
