(these vines, which escaped the frost, were worked by Méo's team): Healthy dark red. Inviting aromas of black raspberry, licorice and sexy oak. Intensely flavored, juicy and sweet, with berry and crushed stone flavors showing lovely purity and finesse. Very firmly built but not at all dry, this brisk midweight finishes with fine-grained tannins and persistent minerality.

The 2016 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les Perrieres, which has been farmed by the domaine since 2003, was not touched by the frost. The nose is quite tight at the moment and needed more encouragement from the glass. The palate is fresh in the mouth, supple, lovely orange zest and tangerine notes infusing the fleshy red fruit with a harmonious, sensual finish.
